Veidekke Rogaland brings structured insight across seven residential projects

Veidekke Rogaland is using Rucoria’s Insight module across seven residential projects, turning data from the warranty phase into structured, actionable insight. The goal is not just to understand what is happening within each project, but to identify patterns, compare performance and learn across projects.

It is one thing to collect data from construction projects. Actually using it to improve the next project is something else entirely.

Veidekke Rogaland takes insight across seven projects

Veidekke Rogaland runs the full Rucoria platform across several of its residential projects, from options through to the warranty phase. Now, the company is adding the Insight module across seven projects, creating a shared view of performance both within individual projects and across the portfolio.

The value lies at both levels. Within each project, teams get the overview they need to follow up and prioritise cases, monitor resolution times and evaluate subcontractors while work is ongoing. Across projects, they can start to identify patterns: what keeps recurring within individual trades, where cases tend to get stuck, and where processes are working well.

Veidekke Rogaland is exploring how digital tools can create concrete, practical value in day-to-day project work. The experience from these seven projects will provide a valuable foundation for learning and continuous improvement.

“When warranty data from several residential projects is structured into one shared overview, we can see resolution times, cases and subcontractors across projects, while still being able to go straight into an individual case. We want to use this to learn from our experience and get a little better from one project to the next.”

A clear trend among developers and contractors

Both real estate developers and general contractors want to bring data from the entire customer journey into one platform: from options, through inspection and handover, and into the warranty phase.

But collecting data is only half the job.

Data on its own has limited value. The real value comes when it is structured, comparable and easy to act on — both within an individual project and across an entire portfolio.

That is where Rucoria’s Insight module comes in.

Value in each project and across projects

Within an individual project, the module provides an overview while work is still ongoing. Project managers can monitor resolution times, follow up and prioritise open cases, and evaluate subcontractors along the way rather than waiting until the project is finished.

Potential problems can therefore be identified earlier, while there is still time to act. A warranty case that is spotted and resolved early is far less likely to develop into something larger and more expensive.

Across projects, another level of insight becomes possible.

Do the same types of cases keep recurring with particular subcontractors or within particular trades? Which projects have the shortest resolution times, and what are they doing differently? What appears to be a one-off issue in a single project may reveal itself as a pattern when several projects are viewed together.

The module is built on Power BI and integrated directly into the Rucoria platform. Users can start with an overview across projects, drill down into an individual project, and then go directly to a specific case for a particular home.

From overview to action without switching systems or digging through spreadsheets.

One shared dashboard, the same picture of reality

Many organisations end up with each project — or each project manager — building their own overview in spreadsheets.

That may work well enough within a single project, but problems arise as soon as you want to compare performance. Resolution time may be measured from different starting points, cases may be categorised differently, and two numbers that appear comparable may actually represent different things.

The Insight module provides a predefined dashboard with consistent criteria for what is measured. Everyone works from the same overview, the same definitions and the same picture of reality.

When the criteria are consistent, differences between projects become meaningful. You can trust that a difference in the data reflects a difference in performance, rather than a difference in how someone configured a spreadsheet.

It also removes manual work. Teams no longer need to build and maintain separate reports. The measurement framework is in place from day one and remains consistent across the organisation.

Standardise what can be standardised

Good residential projects are about standardising what can be standardised and using insight to continuously improve — while still giving homebuyers the freedom to create their own unique homes.

The two are not opposites.

The more consistent the processes around options, inspection, handover and warranty become, the more efficiently projects can run. That frees up time for what actually matters to the homebuyer.

Standardisation also reduces the risk of costly, repeated mistakes. Without a shared data foundation, improvement can easily become a matter of gut feeling. With structured data, it becomes something you can measure, track and repeat from one project to the next.

“I’ve spent more than ten years working with business intelligence. Being able to bring that knowledge into the Rucoria platform and see the value our customers get from it is genuinely motivating. With the Insight module, we deliver standardised and structured insight using a tool many of our customers already know: Power BI.”

From project tool to permanent infrastructure

The Insight module is part of Rucoria Business Solutions, which provides analytics and insight across projects, tools for standardisation and long-term data storage.

For developers and contractors already running multiple projects in Rucoria, this represents a shift: from using the platform project by project to making it a permanent part of how the organisation works, learns and improves.
