AI for Project Managers in Construction and Real Estate: From Oslo to Kristiansand

After a successful start in Oslo, Rucoria took its AI event for project managers in construction and real estate to Kristiansand. On Thursday 29 October, we brought together 60 project managers and other employees working on construction and real estate projects, from 20 different companies in Southern Norway. We hosted it together with Avo Consulting, EBA Agder (EBA), Mur i Sør and Vizbo.

Pub, burgers and hands-on cases

The event took place at O'Learys in Søgne. We served burgers, popcorn and beer, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

The course was very hands-on and suited anyone who has used AI a little but wants to see the value in concrete tasks, whether they use Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Everyone brought their own laptop and worked on cases during the session.

Among the cases we demonstrated was an agent that checks and handles incoming building documentation (operation and maintenance documentation) against standard requirements and internal guidelines, finds gaps and follows them up. Another agent collected all project information about a property portfolio from different sources, such as Excel files and PDFs, into a structured overview. Avo Consulting showed how this can be done in Claude, Copilot Studio and ChatGPT, and how Skills can extract and structure inconsistent information from documents.

Why AI for project managers?

The construction industry runs on thin margins, and projects often run over time or budget. Martin Thomassen, VP Sales at Rucoria, put it like this to the regional newspaper Avisen Kristiansand (translated from Norwegian): “I think everyone in Norway is used to projects running over time or budget. Reducing sources of error in the construction process is essential.”

Many mistakes on a building site are human, and they can be reduced if we analyse data better. Asad Mangal of Avo Consulting was clear that technology only has value when it is used in everyday work, for example to analyse documents or respond to tenders.

Hilde Waage, regional director at EBA Agder, says the industry is far ahead on digitalisation, but no better than others when it comes to AI. In an industry with very low margins, she hopes the time we save will eventually show up directly on the bottom line.

More cities in Norway

We tried the concept in Oslo first, where we ran a similar event. It created a lot of engagement, and we were soon asked to repeat the success in Southern Norway.

Now we are taking the event to more cities in Norway. Next stop is Bergen in January 2027. Follow Rucoria on LinkedIn to catch the date.

Thank you to everyone who came, and to Avo Consulting, Vizbo, Mur i Sør and EBA Agder for a great collaboration. Curious about how you can work with Rucoria in your AI tools? Get in touch.
